The soul is the energy of the Lord

The Lord knows everything about everyone because He is seated in everyone’s hearts as the Supersoul. He sees everything through everyone’s eyes. According to the Garuda Purana the Lord sees every­thing through the pupil located in the center of the dark portion of the eyes. There is nothing hidden from Him because with His transcendental potency He is able to know everything. There is no place in this creation where His energies are not present. The movable entities such as rep­tiles, insects, aquatics, animals and humans as well as the immovable, such as trees, plants and grass have souls because anything that takes birth, grows, stays for some time, produces byproducts, dwindles and dies has a soul in them and that soul is the energy of the Lord. Therefore the Lord is present everywhere with His energies. He uses everything and moves everywhere through the utilization of His energies. It should be understood that whatever energy and power any and all creatures possess is of the Lord.
